Castle Nursery & Pre-School was founded in 1995 with our first nursery setting at South Hill, Guildford, Surrey. This means in 2015 we will have been open for 20 years! Castle Nursery & Pre-School now has three nurseries and they are as follows:-
South Hill Nursery
Our South Hill Nursery opened in 1995, its setting can be found nestled in the heart of Guildford town, its location is perfect for parents living and working in Guildford town centre.
The South Hill Nursery is a Victorian building which dates back to 1858, formally the first Primary School in Guildford. This historic locally listed building has been carefully and beautifully converted to meet the needs of the children, whilst retaining its character features.
South Hill is a 39 place setting and has three fully equipped rooms: 0-2’s room, 2-3’s room and a Preschool for the 3-5’s. We also have a separate cot room and two gardens one for the under two’s and a larger garden for the over two’s which has an outdoor classroom in.
Shamley Green Nursery
Castle Nursery in Shamley Green opended in 2002, we are a 39 place rural day nursery situated in the grounds of Wonersh & Shamley Green Primary School. We have a single storey building with disabled access and two fully equipped rooms, one for the under two's and one for the over two,s. We have direct access into the outdoors areas from both rooms with the over two's having free flow indoors and outdoors access to a digging area, willow den, growing area, mud kitchen, sand and water play. There is also a large sand pit, role play house, trim trail and a variety of gross motor equipment on a safety surface area. We are fortunate to have a woodland environment nearby which encourages a variety of wildlife into the area and a Forest School, where the children can explore and experiment following their curiosity and ideas in a natural environment.
Castle Nursery at Markenfield Road opened in October 2003, we are a purpose built 80 place setting and have recently become a Forest School. We have a highly trained team, working continuously to ensure that children's individual care and learning needs are met whilst having fun. Empowering children to have the confidence and communication skills to develop risk and challenge within their learning environment. This is the ethos behind much of what we teach.
Whilst our Castle Nursery settings share many important qualities we also ensure we retain our individuality.
What is very important to Castle Nursery & Pre-School is the support we aim to provide to parents. We remain dedicated to offering the most flexible provision of child-care possible without compromising on the quality of care or the child's well-being.
All of the Castle nurseries are now registered Forest Schools! Click Here for further information.
Castle Nursery & Pre-School looking Forward:-
We plan to continue raising the bar of future childcare provision by challenging complacency and pioneering a forward thinking approach today and every day. One way we will achieve this is to continue making significant investment in our staff by supporting their training and ongoing professional development. This is because Castle's success to date can be attributed to the dedication of our staff and their leadership. How this manifests day-to-day is in the excellent relationships that our staff members have with the children and their parents.
We know that Castle is only as good as the relationship between our staff and our customers (the big ones and the little ones) and we plan to continue listening and responding to parents' needs, quickly and effectively.
