About us

Kids_paintingOur Heritage
Castle Nursery & Pre-School was founded in 1995 with our first nursery setting at South Hill, Guildford, Surrey.
Our South Hill Nursery setting can be found nestled in the heart of Guildford town, its location is perfect for parents living and working in Guildford town centre.

The South Hill Nursery is a Victorian building which dates back to 1858, formally the first Primary School in Guildford. This historic grade two listed building has been carefully and beautifully converted to meet the needs of the children, whilst retaining its character features.

In April 2002 we opened our bespoke nursery and pre-school at Shamley Green providing our children with a very high standard of care, experienced and qualified staff and excellent facilities both inside and out. Further endorsed in 2006 when we were awarded an "outstanding" in all aspects of our Ofsted inspection. More recently in 2008 we received our "Investor in People" award once again reflecting the achievement and success through our people.

Our Castle Nursery, at Markenfield Road opened in October 2003 offering all that you would anticipate from a purpose built Ofsted registered nursery and pre-school. With its excellent standards of care and education; great indoor and outdoor space in a nurturing and safe environment the children at Markenfield Road enjoy an active and happy nursery setting.

Whilst our Castle Nursery settings share many important qualities we also ensure we retain our individuality.

What is very important to Castle Nursery & Pre-School is the support we aim to provide to parents. We remain dedicated to offering the most flexible provision of child-care possible without compromising on the quality of care or the child's well-being.

Castle looking forward
We plan to continue raising the bar of future childcare provision by challenging complacency and pioneering a forward thinking approach today and every day. One way we will achieve this is to continue making significant investment in our staff by supporting their training and ongoing professional development. This is because Castle's success to date can be attributed to the dedication of our staff and their leadership. How this manifests day-to-day is in the excellent relationships that our staff members have with the children and their parents.
We know that Castle is only as good as the relationship between our staff and our customers (the big ones and the little ones) and we plan to continue listening and responding to parents' needs, quickly and effectively.
